This is a re-creation of the famous Winchester lever action rifle which is often depicted in westerns as the primary for a gunslinger, outlaw or sheriff. The design is iconic with a brass receiver which earned the repeater the nickname "Yellow Boy" although I think that calling it the "Winchester" is far cooler sounding. Making this was a test of my animation and modelling skills as the weapon features some of the most complex yet simple mechanics seen in weaponry. Each part of the weapon serves a purpose and most of the mechanics of the weapon aren't hidden beneath the guns body making them visible at almost all times meaning I had to model a lot of mechanical parts. The hardest part about this was when I came to animating the gun. As the hand pushes the lever forward the firing pin is pulled back which drops the hammer and ejects the casing of the loaded round which also cycles the next round in front of the firing pin which is then loaded into the chamber, very complex.
